I feel like it’s been a hot minute since I sat down and wrote a full blog post. Honestly, I’m not sure how the year is over?? It feels like it went by so quickly and so slowly all at the same time. I had to go back through my camera roll to help me remember what I was up to the first half of the year because I honestly felt like it wasn’t much. I thought it would be fun to look back on this year. It was a difficult year for many, but if nothing else, I think it taught us to appreciate the little things in life ๐Ÿ–ค

January

Ok so the beginning of the year started off with me posting so much fun content. (Pregnancy and staying home has definitely made it harder) Looking back I’m so proud of all the fun things I shared! Based on what I posted last January, it looks like a ton of fun “spring” items came out in January. This makes me so excited to hopefully share some new clothing items with you all soon since its been a while.

I shared all about the BEST winter jacket. [You can read the full post here] I swear it is so good though. Even now, it still fits over my bump! I’m so impressed with this coat and love it even more a year later

I also shared this super cute (& easy) braid that literally ANYONE can do! The how-to can be found here

February

Mike and I (unknowingly) went on our last big trip before baby. I’m so glad we were able to take this trip to Florida and experience some warm weather before being stuck at home for months. We had such a nice weekend away soaking up the sun and enjoying time together.

March

What a month! If you would’ve told me what we were in for I never would’ve believed you. I was able to get my closet done RIGHT BEFORE everything shut down. Although, I can say with all honestly, I haven’t worn most of the clothes in my closet since there’s nowhere to dress up for ๐Ÿ˜‚, I’m still so glad I did this and am able to enjoy an organized closet.

This was also the last month I was physically in my classroom. I’m so glad I took this picture. I miss being in a physical classroom with kids so much. It’s so crazy it’s been almost a year of teaching remotely. I really miss wearing jeans, too, which is something I never thought I would say!

April/May

Combining these two months because this was peak quarantine so I focused a lot on organizing, reading, and spending time outside in my outdoor oasis.

Did a whole blog post about how I created this little outdoor oasis, if you need some inspo for next spring/summer. You can read more here

I also wrote a few book recommendation posts, too, if you need an indoor activity during these next few months where we are stuck inside. You can read more here and here

June

One of my favorite months of the whole year!! I celebrated turning 30 this month. Although my party was different than I originally imagined, it turned out to be a great time with my closest people. All the details that went into the party were perfect and everything I could’ve imagined regardless of the number of people.

I shared all the details of how to make this piรฑata cake in my birthday post. I swear its really not that hard to make as long as you have the right tools. [You can read more here.]

July

This turned out to be one of the best months of the year for our family. This month we found out we were expecting Baby O’Toole. I felt off the first week of July but waited until July 9th to take a test, just so I wouldn’t get my hopes up. After multiple negative tests for months, I was so surprised/excited to finally have a positive pregnancy test. At the end of the month I had my first doctors appointment where I heard baby’s heartbeat for the first time ๐Ÿฅฐ

Mike and I also celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary by going to The Fields of Michigan. It was a nice little road trip, and although my nausea was just starting we still managed to have a good time. I loved glamping- It made for a great socially distanced vacay. I’m glad Mike and I were still able to do something to celebrate our anniversary.

August

I was in full blown first trimester nausea this whole month but we started telling our close family and friends that we were pregnant this month. I tried my best to film everyone’s reactions, but I was so nervous that most of the videos didn’t turn out great. I’m still glad I caught some of the reactions on camera so we will always have that to look back on. We told both sides of our families with these cutie cookies.

September

We finally announced to everyone that we were expecting. It felt so good to finally announce to the world that we were pregnant. Although it was easier to keep the secret since we rarely left the house, it still felt like this huge weight was lifted once we shared with everyone.

October

We had our gender reveal this month. I’m so happy we were able to have our friends and family share this exciting time with us. Planning on writing a blog post all about our gender reveal, because I’m not sure why I haven’t yet?! So that is definitely coming soon.

I also ended up getting a new “mom” car this month. On days when we need to just get out of the house, it’s been nice to go out for a drive to give us something to do.

November/December

We spent the holidays just the 2.5 (๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ ) of us. It’s been nice to be able to spend so much time together before baby comes but we definitely missed being surrounded by our families during the holidays. Hoping that next year we are able to celebrate with everyone again and make it a special first holiday season for baby boy.

If you got this far, thank you for following along! I am so grateful for everyone who takes the time to read these blog posts. I’m looking forward to 2021 and sharing a bunch of fun stuff with you all.

As always if you have any suggestions for what YOU want to see, be sure to leave me a comment. Wishing you all a happy & healthy 2021 ๐Ÿ˜˜
